Letty Mejia, MSW, has published new insights from qualitative research conducted as part of her CalSTAR Fellowship on the experiences of rural student parents in California. Letty's interest in this topic drew from her experience as a military-connected mom of two boys and a social worker in northern California, who started community college when her first son was one year old. She brings the insights of her interviewees forward to inform this carefully considered brief, elevating particular challenges that face rural student parents as well as more universal experiences.
