From the beginning, we recognized the necessity of having lived experience experts at the helm of the SPARK Collaborative. We believe that we cannot seek substantive policy and practice change to help student parents and their families thrive without student-parent leadership. Co-leadership from student parents is the core of our values, whether these students lend their efforts as a STAR Fellow or by joining our National STAR Network.
The National STAR Network (N STAR) will serve as a community-building space for parenting students in policy, research, or practice advisory roles, as well as student-parent leaders in educational institutions, whether compensated or participating for educational advancement. The SPARK Collaborative’s N STAR Network will offer peer and alum mentorship communities, leadership development resources, and informational sessions on topics of interest. As we continue to build the N STAR Network, we invite those interested in its development to become SPARK Collaborative members to join the conversation!
Be the first to know about new resources for student parents as they roll out.
