Principal Research Associate, Urban Institute
Theresa Anderson, PhD, is a senior researcher at the Urban Institute who has dedicated her career to pursuing policy solutions that promote social justice. She became a student parent in 2019 toward the end of her education journey, while working on her dissertation research on the outcomes for families when mothers go back to school. As a mixed-methods researcher at Urban and as a steward of the SPARK Collaborative, she strives to understand and promote solutions that allow student parents—and all students marginalized in the US education system—to meet their education, career, family, and life goals while supporting their own and their families’ well-being. Theresa lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her two sons, one husband, and one very skittish cat.
