Workshop Highlights:
Session 1: Crafting Your Story
- Learn the art of crafting a compelling narrative that reflects your journey as a parenting student.
- Explore effective storytelling techniques with seasoned experts.
Session 2: Telling Your Story
- Develop your voice and refine your storytelling skills.
- Gain insights on how to captivate your audience and make your story memorable.
Session 3: Using Your Story to Impact Policy
- Discover strategies to leverage your narrative for real policy change.
- Explore avenues to connect with policymakers and advocate for education reform.
Details:
- Three virtual 1-hour sessions over three weeks. (November 8, 15, and 22nd from 1-2 pm ET)
Benefits for Participants:
- Opportunity to showcase your stories through written or digital media;
- Share your stories directly with Congressional staff and other policymakers; and/or
- Participate in events like the D.C. Student Summit or Annual Student Parent Month to spend time on Capitol Hill sharing your story.
Requirements:
- Participants must commit to participating in all three sessions. (Kids in the background are totally acceptable!)
- Participants must be able to join sessions on a video call and be comfortable with their cameras on.
