Shalease Williams is a seasoned advocate for secondary education and family rights. With over 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to empowering students and families. As a devoted parent to three children—two boys and one girl, aged 18, 8, and 9—Shalease understands the challenges faced by parenting students firsthand. Her educational journey began at Portland Community College (PCC), where she successfully completed two Career Pathway Certifications in Health Care and Accounting. Not stopping there, Shalease earned four associate’s degrees in Arts, Science, Business, and General Studies. Her unwavering passion for knowledge led her to continue her education at Portland State University, where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Public Affairs. Shalease’s unique perspective enriches every conversation she engages in. She has been a featured speaker at various conferences, emphasizing the critical role of parenting students in shaping educational programs. Her commitment to social justice and family empowerment has made her a sought-after ally in the field. When she’s not advocating, Shalease enjoys spending quality time with her family and actively mentoring individuals with developmental disabilities within the foster care system.
