Bio

Letty Mejia is a wife of 21 years to an Army veteran and mom to two boys who are 8 and 11 years old. She recently graduated with her master’s in social work from California State University Chico. She started community college when her first son was only one year old and obtained her associate's degree in early childhood education and social sciences from Shasta Community College. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in early childhood development from Southern Oregon University. She is working toward her Pupil Personnel Services credential, licensure, and Ph.D. Her research interests include Latiné and BIPOC populations, rural communities, and the antiracist research framework. She aspires to do clinical social work supporting children and families, including trauma survivors, specifically in the Latiné community.
